I Love The Pretty Things...

My style is pretty girly most of the time, and I'm really into Peter Pan collars, especially ones with a hint of vintage in them. The cute Peter Pan collar on lace tops gives me an extra feminine feel. I would pair them with skinny jeans or pretty pleated skirts, depending on what look I'm going for. The three I have posted are my personal favourites. I would style the Zara and Asos blouses with a gorgeous flowing skirt or maybe a sleek pencil skirt. And for the French Connection top, I would plump for skinny jeans. The pinspot sheer tights I bought from Topshop and they really compliment the look if you opt for skirts! Out of all the  three I would have to say I am really drawn to the French Connection top, it's my style 100%.

Keeping It Stylish For Monday

It's always nice looking stylish at work and trying out different looks, always of course keeping it smart. I came up with the ultimate look at the weekend when I was mooching online for some work staples. I love the pastel coloured pleated skirt from Zara and it goes perfect with the blouse I have chosen from Oasis. I finished off the look with a clutch from Reiss.

The Zara Patent Leather Shopper

I'm getting ready to get a few things for my holiday in March and I really loved this camel patent leather shopper from Zara. It's from their new collection and I will be posting later this week on my favourite things from their Spring collection. It's simple and chic - just what I'm looking for.

Street Style Alert - The Rush Around London With The Trilby

I really loved this girl's style, but by the time I could get a picture she was walking well away. I think this picture just about captures her look. That's the thing about London, it's always a manic rush. At least you can see her trilby hat and I will get better :-)

Love Her Look - Emmy Rossum

American Shameless actress Emmy Rossum was pictured on the red carpet at the Jason Wu for Target launch in New York this week looking very radiant. Her look really stood out for me because I love this skirt, which reminds me of a skirt I have seen in the new collection for Zara. The blush colour blouse works very well with the printed pencil skirt and she's completed her girly look with nude heels.

Pretty In Pink!

Spring is not only about pastel palettes - it's also about being bold and going to the other end of the colour spectrum to indulge neon. How about bright pink? Striking colours are a big trend this year, so maybe we should be more daring with these colours? I'm the classic example of someone who always sticks to the shades I feel more comfortable in. I sometimes want to be more experimental, but am always afraid of looking like a bright pink highlighter pen! However, bright, bold colours can look great when in the hands of a good designer. Here are some of the hottest pinks from the high street.

My New Purchase

This week I have been on the hunt for a new work skirt, something that is a little shorter than my usual pencil skirts. So, I found this wrap skirt from Reiss and when I tried it on it was a definite feeling of love at first sight. I went for one size smaller because it emphasised the panel at the waist, plus I love the adjustable gold buckle. Unfortunately, it wasn't a bargain as it's from their new collection but will stay in the wardrobe a long time. What do you think?

Paris Couture Fashion Week - Take Me To The French Riviera

This week the fashion crowd is focused on Paris Couture Fashion Week - so I started thinking about nautical fashion and the fact that I'd love to go to the French Riviera looking chic and classy. It also reminds me of the episode from Sex And The City where Carrie arrives in Paris in a nautical ensemble looking very Parisian chic. It's another timeless trend and at the moment the nautical theme is definitely on the high street. This is the time of year, just before Spring, when the mix of navy, white and red nautical stripes and prints start to appear and I start to daydream about warm sunny days in the French Riviera! Escape with me in some of my chosen pieces.

LLS Essentials - Crisp White Shirt

The crisp white shirt is a wardrobe staple, not only is this classic perfect for work attire but can also be styled casually. Button it up for the preppy look and undone for a more relaxed feel.

Don't Believe The Hype.....Or Second Thoughts...

The day has finally arrived, as Karl Largerfield launches his exclusive collection, 'Karl' at Net-A-Porter.com. Personally, I have to admit, I was in two minds about the collection and I still am - it screams edginess, black & white leather and shiny finishes. I can imagine his collection will be a sellout online, as it has been marketed as an 'accessible' range for women. Yesterday, I posted on the simple and safe option with monochrome, so if this is your thing, why not head to Net-A-Porter to add the Largerfield twist to your wardrobe? Here are my personal highlights from the collection:

I Really Love.....

This black print sleeveless top with embellished detail and lace back from River Island is my favourite pick today. I love the contrast between the candy coloured embellished detail and the black print. You could wear this pretty top with coloured skinny jeans and I have chosen a pair from Topshop. There's a mix of two Spring trends here, the print and also the pastel tones with the embellished neck line.

Street Style Alert - The Hillier Hobo

I love going into London and taking pictures of the new trends that I see out there on the street - from the garb people are wearing to the bags they're carrying and the shoes they're swishing down the high street in. The lady in this street style picture is carrying the classic Marc By Marc Jacobs Hillier Hobo shoulder bag. I bought this bag in LA in 2008 and 4 years later it is still a best-seller for good old Marc. I'm glad I went for the black version with the gold hardware, as I was initially tempted to go for a tan colour. If you are after this bag, it is available online at Net A Porter.

Simple And Safe

When I think of the simple and safe fashion trends, I am always taken back to the classic black and white monochrome look. This style is considered timeless and works for all seasons - it always looks very smart, chic and crisp. Simplicity is the ultimate secret to nailing this look, and the pairing of black and white is iconic. I'm a real lover of this trend, because not only is it the play it safe option, but it will always look striking with minimalist effort.

Within the last few days, Diana Kruger and Jessica Alba have both chosen this look in differently styled dresses - Jessica wore a mid-calf silk dress by Chanel, while Diana went for a monochrome belted palm-print Versace mini. Both dresses shout two words: modern and classic. To achieve this look I have picked some key pieces for you.
